The well-known U.S. news portal ''Huffington Post'' lavishes praise in its feature article about Latvia, calling it ''one of Europe's best kept secrets.''

The article then goes on to give 18 reasons why travelers should visit Latvia.

It is so awesome that it was named the European Capital of Culture for 2014. Riga is known for its architecture, multicultural heritage, and many museums. Riga's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.''
